About CCS
CCS is one of Minnesota’s top Charter Public Schools with a mission of growing environmentally aware, community-conscious learners of excellence. By design our classes are limited to 19 students and we employ a multi-grade learning environment, creating unique educational experiences that are difficult to duplicate in larger school settings.
In an effort to continue on a path of innovation in education, CCS added an online high school program that has grown to over 75 students, which has created flexible learning options for students in central Minnesota and around the state.
CCS is an annual recipient of the Minnesota Department of Education’s Finance award, indicating strong fiscal management & health. CCS has also been granted “Reward Status” with the Minnesota Department of Education for the past two years, recognizing us as one of the top 15% of all schools in the state of Minnesota on MCA test scores & our closing of the achievement gap. In 2016, CCS was recognized by MDE as a “High Quality Charter School”, making us one of the top 35 Public Charter Schools in the State of Minnesota.
What you may not know is that even though CCS is a public school serving more than just the community of Crosslake, we do not impact local property taxes. Our revenue comes from per pupil funding sources at the state level, with some federal dollars coming in to support special education programming and Title I services. We also receive aid to offset a handful of expenses including lease aid to assist with facility rent.
On behalf of our CCS family, thank you for all of your support!
