Seat-Based School Opportunities
Crosslake Community Schools' Pre-K-8 seat-based program offers a unique learning environment, specializing in multi-age classrooms and parent/guardian, teacher, and student partnerships. By design, our classes are limited to 19 students - providing for very personalized, high quality educational experiences that are difficult to duplicate in larger school settings. CCS is located in the Brainerd Lakes are and is steps away from Cross Lake, part of the Whitefish Chain of Lakes.

This is a multifaceted position working in close partnership with the Human Resources/Business Manager, online Administrative Assistant, the seat-based Executive Assistant, and the Seat-Based and Online Directors. As the receptionist, you are the face and voice of CCS. The Administrative Assistant job description offers a variety of tasks and is an extremely important role for the seat-based school.

Special Education Paraprofessional Seat-Based Learning (click link for complete job description)
Special education paraprofessionals support students based on the needs and accommodations outlined in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Duties are determined by the IEP term and the Special Education Teacher. Minimum requirement: high school diploma.
Substitute Teacher (on-call)
In absence of teacher, on-call substitute teachers will supervise students and implement sub plans left by teachers in the seat-based program. This assignment could also include lunch and recess duty; hours are M-F 8:00-3:30. A working knowledge of web-based applications such as email and the Google suite is preferred due to the current pandemic. Requirement for employment: teaching license in any content area including a substitute teacher license (requires a four year degree but no teacher training).

To teach students in grades K-12 who receive English Learner Services; to develop and enhance CCS’ English Learner Services; to ensure proper assessment of students who qualify for English Learner Services; to support students in completion of classes and school engagement, to build relationships and connections with students and families in order to facilitate a small school feeling, to communicate with families regarding course activity and progress, and to identify and support students who otherwise may fall through the cracks, drop out, or not-pass classes.
