Authorizer

Minnesota chartered public schools are tuition free, independent public schools that are open to and welcome all students, no matter their ability or need, and are governed and operated jointly by licensed teachers, parents, and community members.

Unlike district schools, which generally serve students based on where they live, charter schools are schools of choice. Families choose to enroll at CCS, and our school is independently governed by its own Board of Directors. Every Minnesota charter school must have an approved authorizer, which is an organization responsible for overseeing the school and holding it accountable to the commitments established in its charter contract.

Crosslake Community Schools is authorized by Osprey Wilds. Our authorizer provides ongoing oversight of our school while CCS maintains the independence and local governance that distinguish charter schools from traditional school districts.
