203 Operation Of The Charter-Governing Rules

Policy 203 – Operation Of The Charter School Board - Governing Rules Purpose

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to provide governing rules for the conduct of meetings of the school board of directors at Crosslake Community School (CCS).

General Statement of Policy

An orderly school board meeting allows board directors to participate in discussion and decision of CCS issues. Rules of order allow school board directors the opportunity to review school-related topics, discuss charter school business items, and bring matters to conclusion in a timely and consistent manner.

Rules of the Order

Rules of order for school board meetings shall be as follows:

  1. Minnesota statutes where specified;
  2. Specific rules of order as provided by the school board consistent with Minnesota statutes; and
  3. Robert’s Rules of Order (latest edition) when not inconsistent with A. and B., above.

[Note: The editions of Robert’s Rules of Order differ, so specifying the edition used is important.]
